Shopping at Home Depot

Shopping at Home Depot is something that just comes naturally.  I mean, who doesn’t like to make a trip to the hardware store.  Now I am not talking about “shopping” as in roaming around the aisles gawking at stuff on the shelves.  I mean, getting into the store, finding what you need for the current project and getting out the door and back to the shop.

Pokey and I have made many trips to the hardware store.  Home Depot, Lowes, Ace, True Value and any number of local mom and pop shops.  The folks at Home Depot and Lowes often have treats that they share with the dogs.  Nice touch.

Pokey and I were recently at Home Depot to help family members shop for paint.  We had a lot of fun explaining how the base paints are all white, and the technician mixes in colors in a very fancy machine and then shakes the can to mix the paint.

We got some great paint samples and some chip brushes.  The samples are on the wall now and the final color has been selected.  It’s going to be a super project.  I’ll enjoy my coffee and Pokey will get some Buddy Biscuits.

My Best Buddies – Pokey and Artie

Pokey and Artie are my best buddies.  Pokey is a Yorkshire Terrier and Artie is a Miniature Pinscher.  They are both great dogs. Everybody should be blessed with friends as special as these two.

We go lots of places together.  In fact, unless dogs are prohibited, like in a grocery store, they go everywhere I do.  So we get to make frequent trips in the car.

Pokey likes to sit on my lap while we are out and about.  He is very good about not interfering with my driving.  He knows right where the vent is that blows cool air in the summer and warm air in the winter.  And he likes to look out the window to watch the scenery as we pass.

Artie prefers to ride shotgun.  He takes command of that side of the car.  He is wise to the vent locations and is quite adept at looking out the window.

We’ve shared many adventures and are looking forward to many more in the future.

Come back and we’ll tell you how they went.
